Snowstorm films was set up in 2008 to help produce a short film called 'End of the Line'. The short film was shot entirely in Strabane, Co.Tyrone and was Written and Directed by Michael Lafferty.
Starring local actors, the film was premiered in the summer of 2009 and was entered into a film festival in the United States of America.
In 2010, 'End of the Line' went on to win 'Best International Screenplay in a short film' at the Los Angeles venue of the New York International Independent film and Video Festival.
In 2016, Michael created The Strabane short film Project to create 3 new short films, due to funding issues, only two were made, which were 'Troubled Mind 'and 'The Murder Game'. Both were premiered in Lifford Co.Donegal at Eclipse Cinemas and were well received with 'The Murder Game having been selected for The Belfast Film Festival 2017.
